Accessibility statement.

An institution dedicated to validating foresight in the built environment is held to the same principle in its digital presence. This page documents the standards we follow, the steps we have taken, and the channel for reporting any barrier you may encounter.

Our commitment.

Inclusive Living International is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors to this website, in line with the foresight principle that guides our institutional work. We continually work to improve the experience for everyone, regardless of ability, device or context of use.

Conformance target.

This website is designed to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. WCAG defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, and is the internationally recognised technical standard for digital accessibility.

Specific measures implemented across this site include:

  • Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy on every page
  • Skip-to-content links available on every page
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Sufficient colour contrast for text and meaningful graphics
  • Descriptive alternative text for all informative images
  • Language declared on every page (English or Spanish)
  • Responsive design that supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content
  • Support for the prefers-reduced-motion setting, reducing animation for users who request it
  • A visible control to pause any moving text, and support for the operating system high contrast mode
  • Form fields carry autocomplete attributes so assistive technology and browsers can fill them automatically
  • Focus is never trapped: the mobile menu can always be closed with the Escape key, and focus returns to the button that opened it
  • No information conveyed by colour alone
  • Forms with associated labels and accessible error handling

Limitations and honesty.

Despite our best efforts, some content on this site may not yet fully conform to the target standard. We treat accessibility as a continuous discipline, not a finished state. If you encounter a barrier, we want to know.

Assessment method.

The accessibility of this website is assessed through a combination of automated testing tools, manual inspection by our development team, and ongoing user feedback. The most recent review, on 21 August 2026, ran the axe-core engine against every page of the site in both languages and returned zero violations, and was complemented by manual keyboard testing, reflow testing at 320 pixels, and text spacing testing. We do not currently hold a third-party accessibility audit certificate. When that changes, this page will be updated accordingly.
