ILI is the institution behind the Inclusive Living Standard (ILS), a professional seal that verifies a project’s preparedness for every stage of life. Unlike social initiatives or regulatory frameworks, ILI operates in the strategic field of real estate value and foresight.

Our mission is not to modify architecture, but to validate it through criteria that address functional longevity, design intelligence and human adaptability.

Two decades of pioneering work.

ILI is the institutional expression of a methodology forged over more than twenty years by Marcelo Roisman, an internationally recognised authority on inclusive residential design.

In 2010 he founded Nagish, a pioneering company that delivered an integrated model of diagnosis, design, modification and construction for inclusive housing, at a time when the conversation around foresight in real estate had not yet begun anywhere in the world. The firm managed the full lifecycle of inclusive housing across thousands of homes and institutional spaces.

Marcelo Roisman established himself as a primary public voice and technical expert in the field, with regular presence on television and radio news programmes, recognised technical authority in courts and insurance compensation cases, and academic influence including the co-founding of the first national Institute for Cognitive Accessibility.

The successful sale of the company in 2019 culminated that comprehensive model of innovation, scale and profitability. ILI was then established to scale that proven system into a measurable, transferable global certification.

An internal technical manual.

The Inclusive Living Standard is built on a proprietary technical manual developed in-house and refined across more than a decade of practice. The manual is not published commercially. It is the methodological backbone of the institution, used by ILI advisors and reviewers in every certification process.

Its criteria draw on the world’s leading technical frameworks for the built environment, including ADA, ISO 21542 and ANSI A117.1, while extending well beyond them to address the strategic dimensions of long-term real estate value: design intelligence, functional longevity and human adaptability.

Operating principles

Three principles guide every ILI engagement.

i.

Foresight, not retrofit

We do not modify architecture. We validate it through criteria that protect functional longevity and human adaptability across decades.

ii.

Real estate value, not compliance

ILS is a strategic instrument for developers, investors and financial institutions. It is voluntary, market-driven, and operates above any regulatory floor.

iii.

A global, transferable system

Criteria, processes and seals are designed to operate across jurisdictions, with a methodology grounded in the leading technical frameworks for the built environment.
